Wish you all a very happy and prosperous new year ...
This year, like every other, everyone is busy taking
resolutions to cultivate healthy habits, follow our role models, or may be, become one.

| I'm Popeye the sailor man Popeye the sailor man... I'm strong to the finish 'cause I eat my spinach... I'm Popeye the sailor man... *poo poo* |
Some how I was always fascinated by him. I especially
related to him because of the way he fought all those bad guys twice his size.
I, being consistent to be positioned in the first row during the class
photographs, thought even I can fight those big guys.
One more thing that Popeye taught us was spinach was the
source of all the strength. My mom took every possible advantage of this.
The first time she got spinach, my first question was “where
is the can?”. How can spinach be stacked in a bundle? It is supposed to be
contained in a tin container that is to be pressed open and the contents
directly gulped in seconds. My muscles would instantly become stronger and an
anchor drawn on it. How was all of this possible with that leafy bundle.
But mom always had answers....
I was explained that since
popeye had spinach since his childhood he could open that can. So, for me to be
able to do that I needed to have that weird looking green thing on my plate.
Spinach, though being one of the top most entries in my hate list, I would
always be the first one to finish it.
I intently waited for the moment when I would be strong enough
to open that can. Somewhere between the wait for the can and regularly checking
my biceps, I grew up. The can's mystery was out and so was my mom’s secret.
Eventually spinach dropped down my hate list. These moms.... they always find a way.. >_<
But now I seldom have a good laugh with mom at my innocence.
That’s exactly what childhood was for right?
